Fells Point, seven in the morning to last call

Fells Point bars and food from 7am to last call, in the order you would do them. A full Saturday from a seven o'clock breakfast on Thames Street to the 1:30am close at the Horse You Came In On, then a second run through the clock for any other day of the week.
Updated Sep 28, 2026 · each stop says the day its sources were read, and what they left unconfirmed
Fells Point is the one Baltimore neighborhood that is properly open at both ends of the day. An Irish pub on the Broadway corner serves breakfast from seven, and on Thames Street there are still bars open until two the next morning. This is for anyone with a whole day to give it: a visitor with a Saturday, someone new to the city, or a Baltimorean who has only ever come down after dark.
It runs by the clock. The first eight stops are one Saturday, start to finish, because Saturday is the only day they all line up: breakfast, the farmers market on Broadway Square, a record shop, dinner at a corner bar, a comedy show, a beer hall and last call at the Horse. The other eleven go round the clock again, most of them seven days a week, for any other day or when a first choice is full.
Before you go
- Do the first run on a Saturday. Brunch Supply is shut Monday to Thursday, Peter's Inn opens only Thursday to Saturday, and the farmers market and the Port's two fixed shows are Saturday things.
- Book two tables ahead: Peter's Inn by email, and not after 3pm on the day, and Thames Street Oyster House on Resy.
- Get to Brunch Supply early. It sells out, it has no telephone, and a pre-order needs 48 hours because the dough needs the time.
- The evening half is for adults. The Port is 21 and over, and Max's takes no one under 21 after 5pm, bar the odd exception at the staff's discretion.
- Park once and walk. Caroline St Garage, 805 S Caroline St, is a few blocks from Broadway Square; everywhere else is meters, and meter times vary block to block.

Sláinte Irish Pub
Start at seven, on the Broadway corner of Thames Street, at an Irish pub that opens then every day of the week. Almost nothing else in Fells Point is serving at that hour, so breakfast at Sláinte feels like being let in before everyone else. Breakfast runs until two, so there is no race. On a Saturday, note the dollar oyster banner in the window: Buck-A-Shuck, run with Kooper's Tavern next door. The pub does not publish it, so the banner is the promise, and a reason to come back tonight.

Not confirmed: The pub does not publish the oyster night. The banner is up and the special was running on a Saturday, so the weekly pattern is what the room says rather than what the site says.

Brunch Supply
The other seven o'clock start, for Friday to Sunday only, and the one if a bag from a bakery suits you better than a plate. Brunch Supply is a micro-bakery on the corner of Ann and Gough, at the upper end of Fells Point, and it is honest about being a mom and pop shop: open most weekends rather than every one, and things sell out early, so the hour matters. There is no telephone. For a sure thing, pre-order 48 hours ahead. Then carry the bag down to Broadway Square for the market.

Fell's Point Farmers Market
On a Saturday, the square is the morning. More than 40 farm and food producers fill Broadway Square every week, year round. Look down as you walk: stall numbers from the 1700s market are still etched into the curbs, so you are doing your shopping on ground that has been a market for centuries. It runs 8am to 12:30 in summer and from nine in winter. Find Aru Aru's stall for Latin street food, the easiest place to catch them, and lunch is sorted.

The Sound Garden
Give the afternoon to the record shop, which is also the stop that survives rain. The Sound Garden has been on Thames Street since 1993, selling new and used vinyl in bulk, and its stock runs deep enough that the lines outside on Record Store Day this April made the Baltimore Banner. Touring acts play in-store too. It sits mid-block between the bars, a short stroll from the market. The shop publishes no hours, so come in the middle of the afternoon rather than at either end of the day, and dig until dinner.

Peter's Inn
Dinner is at Peter's Inn, a corner bar on Ann Street that Bud and Karin Tiffany have run themselves since 1995, with a kitchen behind it that is better than the room lets on. That gap is the reason to come: it feels like a place the neighborhood keeps for itself. It opens only Thursday to Saturday, five to eleven. Walk-ins are welcome, but to be sure of a table, email a booking before three on the day; it takes none by phone or app. Eat early if you want the 9:30 comedy after.

The Port Comedy Club & Tavern
Then walk over to Broadway for a show. The Port runs comedy the way a music venue runs bands: an open mic, a showcase, then somebody on tour. The open mics and showcases are free, so finding out whether you like a comedian usually costs nothing. Headliners run $20 to $39. On a Saturday there are two sittings, 7pm and 9:30pm, with doors half an hour before: the 9:30 if you ate at Peter's, the seven if you skipped dinner. It is 21 and over, and the room is small, so get there for doors.

Max's Taphouse
After the show, it is a short walk down Broadway to Max's, a family-run beer hall of four decades on Broadway Square. The numbers explain why it is the neighborhood's beer destination rather than one more bar: 115 rotating drafts, four casks and a bottle list past a thousand. Start with one of the casks and take your time over the rest. On a Friday or Saturday there is free karaoke from 9:30 until one, and it stays open late, so this is the long middle of the night.

The Horse You Came In On Saloon
Last call is at the Horse You Came In On, on the busiest block of Thames Street, and the story is half of why you end here. The bar claims a 1775 founding, says it survived Prohibition, and keeps the legend that Edgar Allan Poe drank his last here. Take all of that as lore: the name over the door dates from a 1972 renaming. What you can count on is live music every day and a 1:30am close. The Cantina through the same address, with its own door and sign, is where the sport and dancing go.

Pitango Bakery + Cafe
Any other day, start the clock here instead. Pitango bakes its own breads and pastries and opens at seven, seven days a week, on the waterfront next door to the Sagamore Pendry, with seats out on the harbor edge: coffee by the water is as good as a Fells Point morning gets. Its gelato counter is a block inland on Broadway Square; this is the bakery, and the one with the view. It is counter service, so there is nothing to book. On a Wednesday, come back from five for half-price wine bottles with a pizza or a board.

Broadway Market
Late morning into lunch is the part of the day that is neither breakfast nor a night out, and the market has filled it on this square since 1786. It is Baltimore's oldest public market, renovated in 2019 into something nearer a food hall. Go to the north shed and eat your way along the counters: a Polish deli that has served since 1985, seafood, Thai, smoked barbecue and whatever the rotating pop-up is doing. It is cheap and stays open until ten every night, so it also rescues any evening plan that falls through.

Aru Aru
Or take lunch from a counter with no dining room at all. Aru Aru serves Latin street food to take away on Eastern Avenue, and the owners are cheerful about the missing tables: good food, as they put it, needs hungry hands rather than a white tablecloth. They do not publish the counter's daily hours, so the sure bets are their market stalls, Fells Point on Saturday mornings and Patterson Park on Tuesdays. On any other day, try the counter, and eat as you walk back toward the water.

Thames Street Oyster House
By half past four, start the evening where most Fells Point evenings start. Thames Street Oyster House is the neighborhood's serious seafood room, and the Baltimore Banner counts its raw bar among the city's most extensive. On weekdays, happy hour runs 4:30 to 6pm with $2 local oysters, which makes it the early stop rather than the whole night. It draws from well beyond Fells Point, so book on Resy rather than strolling in. At the weekend it also serves lunch, if you would rather have your oysters in daylight.

La Barrita Restobar
For a grill instead of a raw bar, head a little north into Butchers Hill. La Barrita is an Argentinian restobar on a North Chester Street corner, led by its grill, and it is evenings only: from five, six nights a week, running an hour later on Friday and Saturday, and shut on Tuesday. It is the one stop here that takes you up out of Fells Point proper. The restaurant publishes no hours or booking policy of its own, so walk up with a fallback in mind: Oleum, back down in Fells Point, is open every night.

Oleum
Oleum is the dinner for a mixed table: a vegan kitchen on Bond Street run as a proper dinner room rather than a health-food counter, which is rarer here than it sounds. It started in Okinawa before it came to Baltimore. Dinner starts at four every night, which makes it the easy early table before a show at the Port or the Corner Theatre, and runs to nine on Sunday and Monday, ten otherwise. At the weekend there is brunch from eleven to three, a second way to start a Saturday or Sunday.

Barcocina
After dinner, or before it, Barcocina is the room that changes most between lunch and last call. Its glass garage-door walls roll up so the dining room opens straight onto the harbor, which makes it the Fells Point water view that is not a hotel. It calls itself a waterfront Mexican inspired restaurant and social scene, and both halves are true: brunch from ten at the weekend, then DJ nights until 2am on Friday and Saturday. Come twice if you can, once in daylight for the water and once late for the crowd.

Cat's Eye Pub
The music stop is Cat's Eye, a 1975 waterfront bar on Thames Street that never went upscale, a few doors from the Oyster House. Bands play seven nights a week, 365 days a year by the pub's own count, and at the weekend the sets start at noon, so even the middle of the afternoon is a gig. The calendar leans blues, zydeco, jazz and Irish. Look up: the flags on the ceiling came from visiting sailors. It is a small room with real regulars, so find a spot at the bar and stay a set.

Fells Point Corner Theatre
Or give an evening to the stage. Fells Point Corner Theatre is an all-volunteer community company on Ann Street, in its 40th season by its own count, putting on plays its own members suggest and champion. That is the appeal: the neighborhood making theater for itself. The season opened with 10x10x10, its annual festival of ten-minute plays by local playwrights, and August Wilson's Jitney runs November 13 to December 13, 2026. It plays by the calendar rather than the clock, so book the show first and build the rest of the day around it.

Rye
For the nightcap, go to the quiet end of a loud block. Rye is a narrow cocktail room on Thames Street with a fireplace and a list of drinks somebody thought about, while the bar next door has a stage and a saloon sign. It opens at five on weekdays and three at the weekend, and it stays up until two every night of the week, including Sunday, when the Horse shuts at ten. When you want to hear the person you came with, this is the better last call.

NeatFreak!
The newest stop, and the one with a question mark on it. NeatFreak! opened in August 2026 as a martini bar in the old Greyhound Tavern room on Fleet Street, a short walk up from the Thames Street crowd, and the hook when it opened was the length of the happy hour rather than the drink: $10 martinis every afternoon it was open, running five hours rather than the usual two. The bar publishes no days or hours of its own, and noon to midnight was the word when it opened, so keep Rye in reserve.
