A Little Italy institution since February 1955, when Joseph Canzani and Sabatino Luperini opened a 50-seat Italian family restaurant here. It grew through three row houses to seat 450, with private rooms for groups of 16 to 150, so it is where a big table goes. Start with the Bookmaker Salad, the one the menu boxes off on its own, piled with shrimp, provolone, Genoa salami, egg and olives, then the homemade pasta.
