One line, 14 stations and 15.4 miles, running under downtown from Owings Mills out to Johns Hopkins Hospital. It is the fastest way across the city centre when it is going your way, and useless when it is not, which is the honest summary of a single-line metro. Same $2.00 fare and same CharmPass as the bus and the light rail, and a train every eight minutes at peak.
- Hours
- Weekdays 5am to midnight; weekends 6am to midnight. Every 8 minutes at daytime peak, 15 minutes late and at weekends
- In the guides
- Parking
- Free park and ride at several outer stations.
- Age rules
- No restriction stated
- Accessibility
- MTA publishes elevator and escalator service from street entrance to platform, tactile warning strips, platform edge barriers, accessible parking for a valid placard, automatic voice annunciators, Braille station guides and priority seating. Described system-wide rather than per station, and MTA runs a separate live elevator and escalator status feed
- Verified
- Verified Sep 18, 2026 against MTA's fares page for the $2.00 one way and the $4.60 day pass; published line facts for the 14 stations, the 15.4 mile length, the Owings Mills to Johns Hopkins Hospital route, the hours and the 8 to 15 minute headways, all attributed to MTA; accessibility from https://www.mta.maryland.gov/accessibility. Facts can drift; if something here is wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it. How we check.
- Not yet confirmed
- MTA's own Metro SubwayLink page currently returns a page under construction, so the hours and headways here come from a source citing MTA rather than from MTA directly. Worth re-checking once that page is back.
