The 1911 Beaux-Arts head house at the top of Charles Street, and the eighth busiest station in the country. MARC's Penn Line and Amtrak both run from here, which makes it the way in from Washington and the way out to anywhere on the northeast corridor, and the Light RailLink stops outside. The exterior restoration is done; the larger redevelopment, including the new concourse, was paused in June 2026 while Amtrak and its partners restructure.

- Verified
- Verified Sep 26, 2026 against Amtrak's own station page for the waiting room and ticket office hours, read Sep 26, 2026; Amtrak's Great American Stations entry and the redevelopment project's own site for the 1911 building, the eighth busiest ranking, the platform and concourse works; June 2026 reporting for the pause and the restructuring of the partnership. Facts can drift; if something here is wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it. How we check.
- Not yet confirmed
- Because the redevelopment is mid-pause, what is open inside the station changes. Step-free routes during the works are not published in a form we can quote, so check before relying on them.
